Dieser Dokumentarfilm erzählt die Geschichte der Syrischen Stadt Rakka am Ufer des Euphrat. Wie an den meisten Orten auf dieser Welt, wo die Menschen unter Krieg leiden, träumen auch die Menschen in Rakka von einem Leben in Frieden und Gerechtigkeit – zwei wichtige Dinge, die ihnen schon seit vielen Jahren unter der Herrschaft der Ba’ath Partei und dem Assad Regime fehlen. Sie kämpften hart, um sich aus dem Griff des Regimes zu befreien. Sie erlangten ihre Freiheit und befreiten ihre Stadt, aber der Erfolg war nur von kurzer Dauer. Die Stadt fiel in die Hände der terroristischen ISIS. Trotzdem kämpfen sie weiter und träumen davon, eines Tages die erwünschte Freiheit in ihrem geliebten Syrien zu erlangen. Ihr Kampf wird weitergehen bis Syrien vom Extremismus befreit ist.

It is a documentary that tells the story of the Syrian city located on the banks of the river Euphrates. Like in most places around the world which has seen war, the dream of the people in Raqqah city was to live in freedom and justice – two important things that were absent for many years under the rule of the Ba’athism Party, and the Al Assad regime. They fought strongly to redeem themselves from the grip of their government. They were able to obtain their freedom and liberate their city but sadly their success was short lived. The city once again fell in the hands of the Islamic State Terror group. But that did not keep them from fighting and dreaming to one day have the freedom they desire in their beloved Syria. For them, extremism has no place in the future of Syria so the struggle will continue until Syria is freed from extremism. Lead does not kill ideas.
